A small, lovely dining experience with excellent food and a slow-and-easy atmosphere. If you have somewhere you need to be, this is not the place for you. A good place to have a quiet meal, especially Sunday morning at breakfast, and watch time (and horses!) go by.
A special place for breakfast in Aiken
GREAT place been to mostly all of them on the east coast this was a good one thanks
OK. The idea of "learning a valuable lesson" from Betsy Lamb's review is absurd for starters. It's a restaurant and should be operated as such. I don't mind waiting for food to a point but waiting in a place with no air conditioning or even open windows and finding out 45 minutes after ordering that your food hasn't even been started yet is, again, absurd. Furthermore, asking after that long when my toddler is sweating to death isn't something to be punished for by the staff. Lastly, having staff respond with a horrible attitude for asking is just completely uncalled for. Especially when the staff flat out lies about saying it would be a long wait from the start. All I was told after ordering was that I paid after. Food probably would have been really good but certainly not worth dealing with the experience.
Hard to find, even harder go forget. You have to try it to get the feel of the "horsey" experience, non-smokers beware.
For a unique Aiken experience, the Track Kitchen can't be beat. Great breakfast with lots of local color and local racing history. Be prepared to linger over awful coffee (unless you get there at the butt crack of dawn when the urn is made) and listen to the horse people's stories about fast horses, big jumps and the latest scandal. If you're really lucky, and Miss Carol made biscuits, throw the low carb diet out the window and dive in! Don't ever complain about slow service or if an old regular gets his breakfast within minutes of sitting down. You'll just get put at the back of the line and be taught a valuable lesson... Some things are for savoring. Go to Waffle House if you want fast service.
Gotta love the home style breakfast. They do it right
About as authentic as you can get. Delicious bacon.
It was awesome !
Country food prepared with love and care. Breakfast and lunch available
The Track Kitchen is closed for now. It is a seasonal business and should open soon.
Good atmosphere friendly people. Home cooking without the clean up
Unique place in a quaint part of Aiken.
Loved it. Great food. Awesome hospitality
A historical place that racing fans and horse people that visit Aiken should put on their "to do" list. Walls were covered in memoriabilia. Time your trip right and watch some horses breeze on the tracks and have a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. I have now checked off another bucket list item but will be back!
Old fashioned breakfast that most in Aiken have no knowledge of.
Such a great experience! Owner is an excellent cook and a delightful lady! Loads of local flavor and we didn’t want to leave. We’ll be back in mid-late April!
